We will create a yoga journal with pictures of campers
in each pose that we learn. By the end of the week,
campers will have a practice journal to help them
remember how to practice yoga at home. Campers who
come to multiple weeks, will learn and journal
progressively more challenging poses each week.
One very unique aspect of Budding Yogis camp, is the
atmosphere of trust and relaxation that is created
throughout each week. Because we are completely
non-competitive, work in small groups and large
groups, and spend time relaxing together, campers
develop a friendship and trust bond with each other
that is unlike friendships which develop in more
competitive environments. It is a rare chance for
kids to spend a week or more playing like the child
that they are:
FRESH - maintaining your child’s natural freshness
FUN – playful, never competitive
HEALTHY – energizing, stretching, and moving
RELAXING – bringing ease and peace back to your child
Yoga is a great way for kids to get connected with
their bodies. Yoga stretches kids' bodies and minds,
and boosts their confidence.
It can help bring active minds into union with active
bodies, and can help kids learn to calm both. Kids
feel empowered by their ability to learn new poses,
stretch into new positions, and stabilize their minds
in a non-competitive environment.
Yoga can build stronger bodies, help stretch athletes'
muscles, and make kids more limber. It can teach kids
new ways to relax and calm themselves when they feel
stressed (which they often do in today's world.)
The Budding Yogis philosophy is to teach yoga to kids
and teens in a way that, stretches their imaginations,
offers them non-competitive opportunities to play, and
teaches kids and teenages how to relax. At Budding
Yogis we are nurturing kids and teens so that they can
develop to their fullest physical and mental health
and well-being.
