Dear
Friends,
When I think of my summer vacations as a child, what I remember the most is the thrill of being able to stay in bed as long as I wanted. If, and when, I eventually did get out of my pajamas, I might call a friend, play outside, or watch cartoons. Most importantly, whatever I did was of my own choosing. The opportunity to make choices and have control over my day was an important part of my maturation, providing me with the time, space and autonomy to figure out who I was, and what I wanted to do with my life.
All of us, at every age, need the time and space to reflect on what we want to do, and where we want to go in life. This summer, I hope you can find an afternoon, a weekend, maybe even a week away somewhere to be still and listen to your inner voice, and what it is whispering. It may just provide you with the direction for the future.
Finding the time and space to be still and listen is something we can also do during mindful meditation, and in our regular yoga practice - using the start of a class, or the ring of a bell to remind ourselves of our deepest intentions towards self and family.

Couples Massage
Saturday, June 10, 1:30-4 pm, $55/couple
Are you intimidated by the thought of your tiny hands trying to massage your partners large and very tight back? Or is it that your strong hands could learn some gentle sensitivity? Wouldn't a little guidance on how to best massage that tight place in your partner's shoulder help? Maybe your partner could use some help. In this workshop we will take the time to practice clear and honest communication, verbal and physical. Christine gives plenty of individual attention so each massager can work comfortably and effectively. Good technique combined with loving intention equals an amazing massage. Come practice speaking to each other through the language of touch. Each partner will receive a full body massage. Christine has been a licensed massage therapist for 10 years and her work is most simply described as gentle but deep. She blends a variety of tissue and energetic techniques offering deeply relieving sessions. She and her cat see clients at their Cleveland Park home office. With Christine Davis.
