why yoga camp?

One very unique aspect of Budding Yogis camp, is the atmosphere of trust and relaxation that is created throughout each week. Because we are completely non-competitive, work in small groups and large groups, and spend time relaxing together, campers develop a friendship and trust bond with each other that is unlike friendships which develop in more competitive environments. It is a rare chance for kids to spend a week or more playing like the child that they are:

FRESH – maintaining your child’s natural freshness
FUN – playful, never competitive
HEALTHY – energizing, stretching, and moving
RELAXING – bringing ease and peace back to your child

a typical day at budding yogis camp includes:

Gathering activities
Craft activity
Yoga
Work on challenge pose for the week (e.g. handstand)
Journaling
Relaxation
Lunch at Chevy Chase Park (full day camp only)
Yoga Games
Yoga Class
Camp Songs
Closing Activities

what we will learn:

Yoga asanas (poses)
Yoga games
Mindfulness and self-calming techniques
Breathing practices
Fun songs

We will create a yoga journal with pictures of campers in each pose that we learn. By the end of the week, campers will have a practice journal to help them remember how to practice yoga at home. Campers who come to multiple weeks, will learn and journal progressively more challenging poses each week.

camp cancellation and refund policies

Budding Yogis reserves the right to cancel any weekly session of camp due to low registration or extraordinary circumstances. Registrants will be informed of cancellations at least two weeks prior to the beginning of their registered camp week. In the case that Budding Yogis needs to cancel a week of camp, refunds will be provided in full to registered students.

For 2011 Summer Camp registrants who need to cancel, refunds are provided, minus a $50 administrative fee, if cancellations are made by May 13, 2011, for both full-day and half-day campers. Sorry, no refunds after the deadline. Please note that camp registrations cannot be transferred to other campers.
